46 participants from 12 countries, forest associations, the European Commission and NGOs attended a policy event in the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic in Brussels. They discussed the results of the “In-Tree project - Introduced tree species in European forests: opportunities and challenges”.

2-4 November 2016

Lucie Vítková and Frank Krumm (EFICENT) were invited to participate in a workshop on Evolutionary dynamics of tree invasion: drivers, dimensions, and implications for management that took place in Stellenbosch (South Africa) on 9-10th November. Lucie and Frank presented some of the key components of the project In-Tree during the workshop.
 
The workshop was organised by the team at CIB – Centre for Excellence on Invasion Biology at the Stellenbosch University. The workshop aimed to present current status of the evolutionary dynamics of tree invasions as well as to compile a special issue for AOB Plants on the evolution of plant invasions. Lucie Vítková (EFICENT) attended a conference on Nature-based solutions to climate change in urban areas and their rural surroundings – linkages between science, policy and practice in Bonn (17 – 19th November). Lucie participated in order to explore the role of introduced tree species in nature-base solutions in the changing climate as a part of the project In-Tree that focuses on introduced tree species in European context.
